The design that helped JJF win back-to-back world titles! The Ghost is probably the first truly high performance board that is suitable for all levels of surfers and can be considered a one-board quiver for any surf trip with decent to good waves on the menu.
A super versatile board, the Ghost has become one of JJF's favorites for all types of surfing (Margaret River winners, Bells Ollie Oop, J-Bay carves and even head high trestles) and is preferred by many surfers around the world .
Originally designed to perform in holler, more powerful wave types, the Ghost has proven to be great for reef breaks, dumpy beachies and also point waves.
The Ghost is based on our Short Cut and has a refined outline: the wide tip is still slightly forward, but the nose area is kept lower and the tail is pulled in slightly to fit a tighter curve.
The thickness has also been moved forward, further helping you get into waves easily, and we've kept the tail and rails thinner to improve grip in barrels and turns at speed.
The rocker is medium/low in the front half so you can easily get into the waves and pick up speed quickly. The rear end has plenty of rocker curve for rotational control and snappy responsiveness. A single concave runs through the entire underwater hull, with a double concave on the inside that provides speed and lift on both the rail and flat spots, allowing for quick rail-to-rail transitions. The Ghost's combination of rocker and concave provides powerful handling with a healthy mix of sensitivity and control.
Depending on where you plan to ride it, we recommend ordering your Ghosts somewhere between your height and 8" above, 1/4" to 1/2" wider and 1/8" to 3/8" thicker than your normal one Shorty The stock boards all have a 5 fin setup.
It comes with a round tail, but we can make it with any tail you want.
