The original Pyzalien has been a popular model for years, so we decided to take a fresh approach and release the new and improved Pyzalien 2 for 2020.

Back when the original came out, it was very different to the shortboards of the time - wide point-forward outline, wider in the nose, with the thickness flow pushed forward as well. It was designed to be ridden shorter/wider than regular boards, but still have the volume needed to perform well in weaker waves. More than 10 years later, the Pyzalien still looks a little different, but most modern shortboard designs have evolved in a similar direction.

Suitable for a wide range of waves from points to reefs to beach breaks, the Pyzalien 2 has one of the most user friendly yet capable rockers we've ever made, smooth and clean, with medium/low entry to medium+ tail rocker. The bottom has a single concave that starts in the nose, goes under the front foot, transitions into a double concave, and then transitions into a VEE in the last 6 inches of the tail, providing more release and making it easier to initiate turns. This rocker/bottom combination gives the board a quick, effortless speed when taking off, while increasing responsiveness and control, allowing for easier rail to rail transitions at high speeds. The outline is clean and simple, no hips or wings, just a fuller nose and wider tail, making the board very fast and propulsive, allowing for easy flow through flatter sections. One of the biggest changes from the original is a more cambered deck with refined rails, so we recommend ordering it at the same thickness, 1/4 to 1/2 inch wider and 2-3 inches shorter than your standard shortboard. Comes standard with a clean swallow tail for extra bite and spark! This is a great daily driver board with a high performance personality, built for most surfers, from beginner to pro.
