Pyzel Surfboards Precious (Custom Order)

“One board that rules them all” was the call and that’s how the name Precious came about (Lord of the Rings nerds will understand this, everyone else doesn’t need to worry).

I based it on the Gremlin because that board is so fast, versatile and fun, but we wanted it to be sleeker, more performance oriented with less width and less clunky rails.

To achieve this and still keep a good amount of volume in the board, we decided to use a step deck. This allowed us to keep some foam in the board, but at the same time create a sensitive, high-performance rail. The step deck also makes the deck concave, which gives the design more stability and sensitivity and, as a side effect, gives a little extra boost in paddling power.

With the Gremlin DNA, it's a step-down with flatter entry rocker and a subtle curve through the tail, providing easy acceleration, speed and quick, responsive turning.

The outline is narrower and more tucked in than the Gremlin, but it still carries speed through slower, weaker sections and allows for improved flow and effortless gliding.

The single/double concave bottom provides lift and drive without ever feeling sticky during rail-to-rail transitions, and the generous V-run of the wide tailblock lets it tip onto the rail with ease even at higher speeds.

The Precious is an easy paddler that gets up and going fast, yet still has a snappy, propulsive, powerful feel to make the most of any type of wave.

Ride your Precious a few inches above or below your height depending on your surfing ability, add ½" to 1" in width and order by volume, not thickness, as the concave deck makes the boards appear thin but they have more volume.

Ride it as a tri-fin, quad or even 2+1 and have a blast!
