Firewire Futures Machado Groove 5 Fin Set

A performance fin template that Rob Machado developed for his new Groove shape, continuing his exploration of performance surfing.

The Machado Groove Fin Set is a tribute to Rob’s performance days and was specifically designed for his ongoing evolution in high-performance surfing. It is the most performance-oriented fin template Rob has developed to date.

In constructing these fins, Rob placed special emphasis on technically progressive flex throughout the template. By combining different carbon layers with a bamboo core, the leading edge of the fin is stiffer, while the trailing edge offers more flex.

This progressive flex provides spring, dynamism, and liveliness in every turn, while maintaining the immediate response and drive necessary for high-performance surfing.

The fin set is offered as a 5-fin set. Although Rob originally developed the Groove as a thruster, he was quickly impressed by the quad configuration.

The set is available in a Medium/Large size. This size is larger than a typical medium, but smaller than a typical large.

The single-tab versions are compatible with the Futures fin system.
