FAQ: is SPF 30 really enough? Usually, I wear SPF 50?
What many people don't know is that the difference between SPF 30 and SPF 50 is only 1%. SPF 30 protects against 97% of UVB rays, while SPF 50 protects against 98%. SPF 50 sunscreens can therefore be misleading, as one might think they are better protected than they actually are. SPF 50 also requires the use of UV filters that are not as safe as non-nano zinc oxide, the only UV filter we use. For this reason, Suntribe sun protection never goes above SPF 30.
