In 1999, Al Merrick designed the Flyer, revolutionizing high performance surfing in small waves. For 2013 Channel Islands has modernized the flyer into a shorter and wider package. This new plan-shape allows for the same volume in a shorter rail line. We kept the forgiving 2-stage rocker and added spiral vee starting in front of the fins to allow for rail-to-rail quickness. The signature Merrick hip provides a pivot point for tight arcs.

The New Flyer is now available with a unidirectional carbon strip on the bottom. The carbon stiffens the middle of the board, increasing flex and bend in the tail and thereby a tighter turn radius. The carbon also reinforces the middle portion of the board against breakage with no detectable weight.

When something isn't broke, there's no need to fix it. That said, Britt Merrick and Dane Reynolds still felt a few slight refinements would make an already epic board that much better. And it did: The merits to this update can be seen in Dane's new surf film “The Electric Acid Surfboard Test.”

A big fan of single concave, Dane asked Britt to take out the vee from the original Neck Beard, creating single throughout. This changed the rocker landscape some, but in a very positive way—enhancing its wave entry, down-the-line speed, and overall control. They also widened the tail block 1/2” and added a slight hip, resulting in increased responsiveness and maneuverability.

Dane prefers the Neck Beard 2 as a tri-fin, but those that like quads may notice added down-the-line speed. It comes with a five-fin setup to get the best of both worlds. Available in both PU/PE and EPS Spine-Tek.

After tinkering with different concepts for most of 2010, Dane Reynolds launched the Neck Beard in early 2011, that became his favorite free-surf board. No longer working to hide volume from the judges like with the Dumpster Diver, Dane let it all hang out with a wider nose and chop tail. With light single concave and vee out the back, this board is faster down the line, has increased rail-to-rail transition, and is more stable when landing airs. Super user-friendly, this is the board Dane grabs when its 1-foot to head-high.
The 2012 Neckbeard tail was taken directly from Dane's hand-drawn template. Dane kept the overall generous plan-shape to provide a skatey feel but the tail refinement allows for slightly more back foot sensitivity. Light single concave and vee out the back, increased rail-to-rail transition and wider through the nose and tail.
Dane rides the Neck Beard as a tri-fin and as a quad for speed. Comes with a five fin setup to get the best of both worlds. If you are a fan of the Dumpster Diver, then definitely grow out your Neck Beard.

Our board designs are direct results of team feedback, so when Dane showed up at the factory in early 2010 requesting a short wide epoxy with single concave and a huge square tail to make the summer bearable, the Dumpster Diver was born. When he came back a week later and wanted one with a narrower nose and a Rookie tail template for the Trestles contest in 3 days, the 2nd Generation Dumpster Diver was created and stayed under his feet all the way through to his first final at the WCT Trestles 2009. Voted SIMA board of the year for 2010. The Dumpster has a ton of curve in a short package, so stick to the pocket and keep it on rail.

The Bunny Chow has been Jordy Smith's board of choice for his World Tour campaigns in poor to fair surf. Designed around Jordy's large build and dynamic approach, the Bunny Chow is equally suited to be on rail or the air. The Biscuit originally began changing lineups in 2007. Revolutionary at the time with ultra-flat rocker and standard sizes going as short as 5'2″, the Biscuit rapidly became a favorite for many of the team riders and surfers around the world. Soon after, we began to notice that certain people "Bonzer-ized" their Biscuits with the Campbell's 5-fin setup. Turns out the spiral pronounced vee in the back of the board jived perfectly with the Campbell brothers' Bonzer 5 recipe. Now exactly 10 years later, that vision by a small crew of surfers is a reality. A performance based California utility board, the “four” was the fourth board in a series of numbered concept boards built for Dane Reynolds just prior to the 2012 US Open. Each concept board incorporated a blend of single to double with vee, 13”+ nose and 15”+ tail with a double bump. After a few months of tweaks and refinements, the result is a design that can be ridden in two different dimension sets to dial in the type of waves and conditions you ride. Dane rides a 5'8” x 19 1/2 a 2 7/16 as a GROVELER and a 5'9” 19 1/4 x 2 7/16” as a UTILITY board.

Ride the utility a couple inches shorter than you are tall, and the groveler an inch or 2 shorter than that (so about 4″ shorter than you are tall)

Parker Coffin said it first: “A Neck Beard 2 would work sick as a keel-fin fish!” So we go to work redesigning the back half of the NB2 template and rocker, paired the board with our CI Keel Fins, and the FishBeard was born.

The FishBeard is pure business in the front and all party in the back. Get forward on this user-friendly board and drive from the center and you'll have all the speed and flow you always desired. the CROWD KILLER ROUND is a natural evolution and refinement of 2018's instantly popular Crowd Killer; which naturally developed to a clean and simple round tail. In contrast to the original Crowd Killer with a double wing swallow tail, the Crowd Killer Round's round Tail is more forgiving and easier to turn in better waves, and at high speeds. Less tail area means more control, and smooth turns and relaxed surfing, with more range in a variety of conditions. The Crowd Killer Round features essentially the same rocker and foil as the Crowd Killer, but we have reduced the concave a bit, lowered the rail volume and added some curve to the outline. The size scale, and standard dims are adjusted as well, so that the Crowd Killer Round can be ridden a bit longer without added volume. A very clean and no frills update to an already well received board, especially for those with aversions to multiple wings and swallow tails. “El Patron' is essentially my personal surfboard. A contemporary, performance short board scaled up and refined to be ridden, and properly perform, with generous dims and higher volume”.

It's easy to inflate any model to larger dims, but another thing altogether, for it to remain nimble, responsive and forgiving. For me, this board does just that. Like so many of us, I've long since felt relegated to riding Hybrids, or Fishy, wide nose, lower rockered boards. Crowds, getting older, a little too much good living (along with a few too many extra lbs.) as well as the fact that I never was a Pro, or a hot shot surfer, have combined to make it difficult to continue riding modern Pro-formance shortboard designs. With the El Patron', I feel I can once again enjoy riding this type of board.

El Patron' allows me to confidently navigate a crowded line up and surf at the best of my personal ability.

El Patron' is primarily based off of a couple higher volume (wider/thicker) quivers built for Kolohe Andino, where he demanded they “still carve and turn like a thinner board”. Featuring a very conservative, low entry rocker and generous, accelerated tail rocker, but blended with a no concave nose area to the shallowest of a single concave, fading to a slight vee through the fins, and back to flat out the tail. This bottom contour allows effortless drive, and glide, while importantly negating the high volume, and lets the rail easily engage and roll into the water. 3D surfing on a thick, wide board. Less concave/More volume: This is the “magic” of El Patron'. Because El Patron' is designed thick, we employ another trick...a 1/3 thinner stringer! By using a 2ply stringer, instead of 3ply, we retain similar flex patterns of a thinner board. This keeps El Patron' feeling flexy and forgiving, rather than being a big stiff plank...and breakage is not much of an issue with a board up and over 2.75″ thick.

Other details include:

Heavily blended rails, that believe the overall thickness, and feel really good in your hands, and in the water.
Thin, boxy rails from the fins back through the tail, allowing control and feeling loose.
Forward thickness flow, for drive and extreme paddle-ability.

Updates include a slightly wider/more forgiving forward outline, a more relaxed central rocker, defined edge and square rail in the tail, refined concave and bottom curves, as well as slight adjustments to the size scaling. The “ Bro” sizes really benefit from the updates ( making a more user friendly contemporary HP shortboard ) and also feature a lower, blended rail, without reducing overall volume.

The Pocket Rocket was first developed for Kolohe Andino, for the varied beach breaks of Europe, in 2015. After years of mostly riding only Drivers and Sub Drivers, he requested a board with a new rocker that “fits more in the pocket, and lets me push hard, but still almost in the flats”. Quite a challenge. We made a few and I scribbled “PocketRocket” on them. Out of the gate he netted a QF finish (Azores) and a Win (Cascias) in back to back 10k WQS events. He then went on to solid runs in the France and Portugal WCT events. It's built around a smooth, continuous rocker, to fit in the "pocket", with enough concave cutting through it to "rocket" down the line and across flats. With plenty of tail curve, the “Pocket Rocket” turns tight and whippy off the tail, but with a relaxed enough curve forward to still project and connect. The Pocket Rocket was quickly adopted under the feet of most of our team and various traveling pros. It also became popular with the Bros when we introduced the “EDD” (Every Day Dims) for average surfers wanting to ride HP designs. In 2016, Joan Duru rode a quiver of Pocket Rockets to qualification on the WCT. A Modern, single to double concave, twin + trailer “Fish”, based off MR's most popular modern shortboard...The SuperTwin. Mark allowed me the honor of tweaking his iconic #SuperTwin model to create a modern, user friendly, small wave weapon. We dramatically lowered the entry rocker, widened the nose and tail block, and added a couple inches of width to the overall outline, giving gobs of glide in gutless surf. We flattened the deck for stability, but retained MR's classic speedy, down soft rails and his modern performance tail rocker...Ensuring it still turns proper and precise. Flat where it needs to be, but still curvy in the right spots, and skates along but still turns in tight spots. This is a Fish that you can grovel the small stuff, but still really rip on. The PARTY CRASHER is a chopped down, volume-up spin off of the popular Crowd Killer, with a nod to the stylish Smooth Operator, but without forgetting the performance and maneuverability of our shorter hybrids like the Puddle Jumper series, thus furthering our adventures into the ego free fun of mid-length mayhem.

I feel like we have nailed the short/wide hybrid for a long time now, my quiver of 6'0” full figured grovelers runs deep. More recently, I've been loving the full-scale mid-lengths, including the Smooth Operator and Crowd Killer, but there is literally a 10”-14” length gap between these two ranges of boards in my quiver. Looking for a happy medium between our typical hybrids (which are traditionally ridden at, or even well below your own height) and our Mid-length Mayhem models, the PARTY CRASHER was designed to bridge the considerable size gap. A magic unicorn that glides and paddles like the longer boards, but more maneuverable and easier to travel with, like the smaller boards. The PARTY CRASHER exists to do just that: Crash any spot and shark around the line up like an un-wanted guest, feasting on typical surf like at an open bar or free buffet.

Starting with my favorite 7'2” Crowd Killer Round, I chopped 6” off of the tail and made a hard diamond, which further shortens the rail line and

enables quicker, more radical, turns. We then whacked 2” off the nose allowing the nose rocker to settle lower and to carry more width forward, lending glide and early entry into waves. The generous tail rocker purposely remains the same, but when squeezed into the shorter board allows it to really fit into tight pockets and short, average broken up beach breaks. It doesn't need a lot of room to turn.

The PARTY CRASHER retains the Crowd Killer's relatively low rail volume, and continuous curve outline, which keeps it catch free and forgiving. It features a deeper, more souped-up and radical, single to double concave bottom. The deeper concave adds lift and spark in smaller surf, and increase the rail line rocker, allowing more vertical and tight-radius-turning.

Crash any line up with confidence on this wave catching, yet surprisingly nimble and maneuverable, machine. It's an age appropriate board, that allows more mature surfers to navigate crowded line ups and hit wave quota, without the typical reduction in performance when going with a longer, higher volume board. Meant to be ridden 4”-8” shorter than a Crowd Killer/Smooth Operator, or 4”-8” longer than our range of Puddle Jumper styles, short Hybrids, but with similar width and thickness to all.

the HYDRA is a minuscule wave monster, reporting more than 25 years of developing small wave fish and mini wave hybrids.

It implements proven design details from a myriad of models like the Puddle Jumper, Bottom Feeder, Pelagic, and most recently the RNF-Retro. Built around an overall low rocker paired to an almost traditional “fish” outline, this little sea monster is a mini-wave weapon.

It features multiple magic making design elements which bring The HYDRA to life.

On the outline, we've continued with the snowboard influenced “Pelagic” side cut outline.

From our original Pelagic , to the RNF Retro and on to the new SWORD FISH, every board featuring this outline has worked above expectations. It noticeably locks into the wave during carves and shortens the radius of turns while both gaining speed and maintaining control.

The bottom contours feature a double concave (sitting in a single concave), with noticeable chined releases towards the rail. A design featured in our classic Bottom Feeder model. The triple concave allows the use of more curve through the rocker (which makes proper turning and vertical surfing a lot easier) by cutting through and adding lift and speed. With very wide boards, single concave bottoms easily get sticky and stay flat on the face, the chined perimeter towards the rails, add release and frees up the board from rail to rail. Making 3D rail surfing more possible, as opposed to simply skating fast on the surface, like so many traditional fish.
The tail is a split diamond, which melds the characteristics of both swallow and diamond tails.
- The notched-out center line shortens the stringer and reduces surface area behind the rear foot, to add bite and control to a wide tail.
- The double diamond tail shortens the rail line making quick and radical, retaining power turns much more manageable.

I dare say this is a more effective and advanced tail design than a typical fish or swallow in allowing radical surfing with very wide tails.

The HYDRA uses a flat-ish deck, with full and forgiving rails. Flat decks can remain thinner and still retain volume and are more flexible (even if thick) than vee or dome decks. Flex is good in low rocker boards, keeping them pliable and forgiving.

The DRIVER 2.0 is the continuing evolution of our most proven and popular pro-formance shortboard. Designed through direct feedback and ongoing refinement with rigorous testing from our pinnacle team riders, specifically Kolohe Andino and Griffin Colapinto, as well as Carissa Moore and young Caroline Marks. The DRIVER 2.0 is a direct reflection of what our team has pushed us to create, to keep up with their pinnacle performance surfing demands.

Over the last two years, since the last iteration of the DRIVER (in early 2017), there has been a constant, almost monthly refinement, of fine tuning and adjustments to keep up with the evolution of modern performance surfing. We've literally made Griffin and Kolohe hundreds of DRIVERS in that time, with subtle, ongoing edits and tweaks. The good news is that this evolution also benefits the every-day surfer.

Updates include:

More gradual, “no flip tip” entry rocker, for glide and “no pump” speed, out the gate = Connecting sections more effortlessly and carry speed though drawn out turns.
Wider nose outline in the forward 18”, for more front foot drive and speed, down the line and through carving turns. This also creates a stable platform for the front foot, when landing reverse and fin free tail wafts.
Thicker along the center with a more pronounced “vee” deck and low, yet forgiving rails = More paddle power and drive, but still sensitive, with the ability to engage the rail for 3-dimensional surfing. This added thickness does not feel “corky”.
Thinner, yet more boxy rails through the tail for quick reaction from heel to toe and holding in while slicing through high speed carves.
More rail rocker through the tail, creating more curve and a deeper concave under the rear foot = More POP, high speed, short radius arcs and vertical pocket surfing off the tail.

Overall, the dimensions and volume are slightly up from years past, allowing the top pros more momentum and glide, yet a still responsive ride. At the same time, allowing Bros more forgiveness and the ability to ride what the Pros are riding.

Semente Shortboard Jig (Custom Order)

This board design is a revival of what was Jose Gregório's (3x Portuguese champion) secret weapon for small to medium contest surf back in his competitive days. At that time we also made a ton of this unnamed model for Italy as it excelled in weak Mediterranean conditions. We have since modernized, refined and tested this model to assure that it was on point for release.

“The Jig” is a fully outlined bomb for small to medium surf. This board features a low rocker line with single concave feeding in to an accentuated vee in the tail, thus maintaining a continuous curve on the rail line and maximum speed through the center of the board. The vee in the tail gives it that extra release and pivot and enables us to use a wider swallow and still keep it loose.

This is a great choice for mushy or small conditions and should be used 2-3” shorter than your normal surfboard. Foam is your friend and this model has some. Great summer sled.

Marlon Lipke's surfing is all about power. His model is a mix of the original FLT model and Marlon's regular shortboard. The result is one of the best shortboards for small to medium waves that Marlon has ever surfed. The outline is full, with a bit of emphasis on the hip in the front. The tail is drawn with a soft bump wing to reduce surface area in the last 12". It features a super low rocker line with a slight rise in the nose. Semente Gony Black Bird Shortboard (Custom Order)

Gony Zubizarreta and Nick Uricchio put a lot of time and effort into developing this model. Gony's growth as a pro surfer has been exciting and fulfilling for Semente. His constant feedback has led to a great deal of fine-tuning in his model. Lately we've been playing with the outline and rocker line in front of and behind the widest point, combined with a slight change in concave placement to increase speed and create a more consistent feel in and out of all maneuvers. This model is where we are now. Increased width and flotation to match Gony's size and strength. Rails are low and semi-boxy and stand for sharp, fast surfing in the last part of the board. The bottom features a single concave that tapers into a release tail. Gony prefers squash tails up to 6'1'' and then mostly jumps onto a rounded pin. Swallows are also available. Semente Filthy Little Thing Shortboard (Custom Order)

The "FLT" was originally developed as a small wave board for medium to poor wave quality. It features flat rocker with single to double concave leading to a double convee release in the tail. Feedback from team riders found the board to be amazing in certain conditions but occasionally a bit sticky. We decided to increase the tail rocker a bit. The results have been fantastic and we have found a more versatile model. The wide point is centered and the board has a slightly protruding front hip line, the "FLT" is full in the front but not as wide as our "Thug" in the nose. The tail pulls into a fairly standard tailline so the outline is very propulsive. As in the outline, the thickness distribution has been shifted slightly forward, which contributes to the overall dynamics of this model. This board covers a much larger surf range than we originally planned.

The Needful model was born from working with team riders in search of the magic carpet for "junk" surf (90% of competitions are run in these conditions). They were looking for a fast board across the board that didn't lose the qualities of a progressive shortboard when maneuvering. The board is extremely flat and concave throughout, the demolition is in the tail release created by the elimination of the concave in the last 6" and fluffs up the board to allow for quick breaks in a surfer line with a crumbly lip when available or cut back hard into a non-existent wave and don't lose your speed Recently the area in the nose has been increased and the lowest point of the camber moved forward to increase speed and overall control in this model.

You can do this without giving a reason and it is sufficient if the posting date is within the deadline. But we are really very accommodating and of course we will extend the deadline for you - please just let us know quickly in advance. Please note, however, that we cannot extend the deadlines for "purchase on account" because this is an external payment provider.

Requirement

In contrast to many online providers, we do not simply throw away the returns, but sell them again in our store. We can therefore only accept goods that are neither used nor damaged. The risk and proof of return shipping lies with the customer.

Reimbursement

As soon as we have received the goods back in perfect condition, we will refund you the purchase price you have already paid. Depending on the payment method you choose, we will choose the same way to refund you the money.

Shipping costs for return shipping will not be refunded. Refunds will be processed within 14 days.

Delivery costs

We have most of our range in stock and dispatch as quickly as possible. We always strive to deliver the goods to you as quickly as possible. If, contrary to expectations, the item is not available, we will inform you by email. Shipping is usually done via DPD.

Free Shipping

For orders over CHF 80.00 we deliver free of charge within Switzerland (with the exception of surfboards, see below)! For orders under CHF 80 we charge a flat rate of CHF 10 delivery costs.

Shipping costs for surfboards and bulky goods

Bulky goods (such as surfboards) are the only items excluded from free shipping. If the order contains surfboards or a package with a length of more than 1 meter, we charge a flat shipping fee of 40 CHF per package. The applicable shipping costs will be displayed to you before you order.

Delivery outside Switzerland

At the moment, deliveries to Switzerland are only possible via the online shop. However, for orders abroad, we will be happy to provide you with a shipping quote for the desired foreign address. Simply use the contact form or write us an email.
