Channel Islands G Skate (Custom Order)

The G Skate was built to inspire you with the unmistakable energy of the Gudauskas brothers - pure stoke.

This fast, skatey and responsive swallowtail hybrid design was born from a collaboration between Britt Merrick and the three Gudauskas brothers-Dane, Pat & Tanner.

Their goal was to create something that feels fresh, turns well in good surf, but also rides through not so good material with ease. During development, there was one important requirement: the G-Skate still had to ride at the highest level. To achieve this, the typical shortboard rail line was shortened by 5" and given curves and contours in the crucial places that keep the board on the water and do not hinder the turns in any way. The whole concept was rounded off with a 2 + 1 (twin plus trailer) fin setup.

The G Skate has plenty of speed thanks to its light single to double concave, low entry rocker and wide point forward, and its modern shortboard rails offer the precision and control you could wish for.

This Stoke-inspired collaboration also resulted in a brand new Merrick/Gudauskas 2+1 fin set for the G Skate, and they also found that the AMT (2+1) fin setup works very well as well. The purpose of this twin plus trailer fin setup was to provide the nice “free feel” of a twinnie while having the refined control of a thruster - which is crucial to creating a board that supports the wide range of approaches between all three G-Bros.
