A slow, low-carbon journey by bike through Europe''s western fringes. Part sporting narrative, part manifesto for eco-friendly travel and part personal pilgrimage, join Martin in his search of perfect waves and the soul of surfing. Chasing the sun south from his home in Cornwall, bestselling author and environmental campaigner Martin Dorey follows in the footsteps of the pioneers who discovered Europe''s best waves. On an epic journey that could take mere weeks by plane, train or campervan, Martin and his wife opt for the steady route across these 3000 miles - by eBike with their surf boards in tow. As an ''Average Joe'' surfer Martin has revered and feared the waves in Europe since he was first slammed into the sand nearly forty years ago. Returning to form after a disastrous knee injury, he rekindles the freedom he felt on his first surfing adventure and rediscovers the people, land and seascapes of littoral Europe. Powered by the sun wherever possible, he hopes the freedom that cycling gives will afford the time and space to surf, explore and connect. As he heads through France, Spain and Portugal he visits the most famous (and some not so famous) surf breaks, seeking out the stories and oral history that make them meaningful. The coastal landscapes of Europe - a dramatic, dynamic, wild and windswept supporting cast - are his constant companions. The Way of the Waves is a love letter to surfing and eco-travel. It''s a testament to taking your time and enjoying the moment - and hoping the surf boards don''t fall off the back.
Return deadline
Of course, you have the right to return goods. Please note, however, that for logistical reasons you only have 14 days to send the goods back to us. You can do this without giving a reason and it is sufficient if the posting date is within the deadline. But we are really very accommodating and of course we will extend the deadline for you - please just let us know quickly in advance. Please note, however, that we cannot extend the deadlines for "purchase on account" because this is an external payment provider.
