Surf wax or front pad?
We always have discussions about surf wax in the store. Of course it's a no-go to stick pads on a singlefin board, but the question naturally arises with other boards. It definitely doesn't work without hold - so here's the question, what are the general advantages of surf wax:

Cons:
- Environmental Impact: Some traditional surf wax products contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment and can contribute to ocean pollution if they leach into the water. This has led to surfers increasingly seeking more environmentally friendly alternatives.
- Cleanup Effort: Surf wax can get dirty and sticky, especially if it gets into sand or dirt. Removing and replacing wax requires time and effort.
- Slip Hazard: If too much wax is applied or the wax is not applied correctly, it can create slippery conditions on the surfboard, which can lead to falls and injuries.
- Challenge for beginners: Applying surf wax requires some practice and skill. Beginners may have difficulty applying the wax evenly and effectively.
So it still makes sense to carry surf wax on your board. Here you can find the surf wax from our range:

Alternatively, you have the option of using a front pad instead of surf wax. The front pad, also referred to as a "deck pad" or "traction pad", is usually a self-adhesive foam mat that is stuck to the top of the surfboard, specifically under the front foot. It is made of a specially developed, non-slip material that prevents your feet from slipping on the wet board. Using a front pad is a personal preference. What you certainly have to take into account is that you will no longer be able to paddle bare-chested or in Lycra afterwards. The skin irritation is too great and you are more likely to rub yourself sore than enjoy the front pad. |
But all the paddling is no longer necessary when river surfing or wake surfing - we even recommend front pads there. You have less dirt on the boat or car and since you don't have to paddle, the disadvantages are eliminated. You can find our front pads at the following link:
