I'm just developing the Go Fish into something new. The Go Fish is fast and feels skatey and loose and I love it. After driving it for a few years, I want more power - more carves, tighter turns. So the Seaside is all about refinement... less area in the tail, narrower tips, more curves and a narrower nose. All elements to rip while keeping the Go Fish cruisy and fun.
The Seaside is only suitable for quads, why?
I decided that if I was going to build a quad, I would build a quad that was strictly a quad... The concavity and bottom contours should match that. I redesigned my entire concave setup that I used on the Moonbeam and Go Fish and did it with the quad setup in mind so everything would fit together.
Why did you name this shape after your home break Seaside?
Naming surfboards is perhaps the hardest thing on the planet [laughs]. It's just the perfect little stick when I'm surfing my home spot, Seaside.

I've been wanting to play with longer, fish-like boards for a while... Ever since I spent some time with Skip Frye and he showed me some of his fish in the 7' range, that's what I've had in mind. First I stretched the GO FISH and built a 7 foot long fish. This worked great and really got me thinking. Then I built a 7'0 Seaside and it became one of my favorite boards in my quiver. I drove it on everything. Super small days, bigger days and everything in between. It has become a board that I take with me everywhere I go.
It slides. It spins in a flash and most importantly... it puts a smile on my face.

The Waikiki is a perfectly traditional log with a single fin set up. It's a must for your quiver, and everyone should feel whats it's like to ride one.
True to tradition it has very round fifty rails all the way through the nose concave.
To me the Waikiki is the type of board that is made to surf with grace and style, smoothly and slowly. This board really represents everything that Waikiki represents, honestly.

Sunday mornings for me start later than most mornings.
It's really a family day.... We wake up, take it slow.... Might be a surf involved before breakfast with my daughter or my son, but we're never in a hurry to get there. We usually go to the farmer's market before noon and stock up on produce.
In the afternoon I'll ride my bicycle down to Cardiff reef and maybe paddle out the 7-foot Sunday for a cruise. Then before sunset I'll ride the 5'6 at Seaside if its good.
My favorite thing about the Sunday is how it occupies both sides of the spectrum. I ride both the 5'6 and the 7'0. That covers a lot of territory.
The 5'6 is about six liters more volume than I'd normally ride in a shortboard. And that's the most important thing - size up your Sunday. Don't be shy. Ride more volume and relax.
If you want to draw out turns and flow, ride it as a single fin. You can set it up as a twin fin if you want to liven it up. It's a win both ways. Sunday is always fun.

The Firewire No Brainer LFT (Linear Flex Technology) surfboard was developed by Dan Mann and Kelly Slater to be ridden in smaller waves. It's so easy to surf that you don't even need a brain to do it. A magical board that an advanced and talented surfer can shred on, but at the same time works very well for all other surfing levels in smaller to medium waves.
The LFT construction incorporates a White Deckskin in their proven sandwich EPS construction methodology, as well as the Springer HD, an 18mm wide aerospace composite that runs across the centerline of the board and represents Firewire's next generation of Springer technology. The Springer HD runs the length of the board and plays a central role in optimizing the flex from nose to tail. The end result is a durable surfboard with vibrant flex patterns that maintains its high-performance characteristics over time.
