The Puddle Jumper from Lost is Matt Biolos' latest prank in his Domesticated series. Compared to an RV or Couch Potato, the Puddle Jumper can be surfed even shorter. The main feature is the concave underwater hull (as opposed to the rolled bottoms used on the other domesticated models), which transitions to a V-bottom at the tail. This will particularly benefit surfers who are used to a similar underwater hull from their all-round boards and want to surf in a performance-oriented manner even in the smallest waves.

Matt Biolos' favorite small wave shape is now also available in the light and robust Lib Tech design. This scores points, among other things, with reduced weight and extreme resistance.

The Cork Pop "air enhancement device" is the latest freestyle surf/skate wake design from Mike Olson. The Cork Pop's defining design feature is a thick "corky" square tail block that maximizes the volume/buoyancy/power under the back foot, providing speed and literally exploding out of the water as you jump off the lip. The plan shape is entirely focused on wake expansion, with a narrow overall width, long straight rail lines and a slash-like nose. The rocker line is flat with a gentle concave that transitions into a fast PAD (Particle Acceleration Dish) concave and a bit of flip in the nose. A loose but precise chined rail flows into a hard, fast edge at the tail. This board is designed to be ridden short, producing effortless speed and precise carving so you can take your freestyle and air game to the next level. Pop the cork!

Lib Tech boards are all made of Eco Isotropic construction, which has many advantages. The partly recycled Nitrogenecell foam is robust and completely waterproof, it does not absorb water. A collaborative Trifin project by Matt Biolos and artistic, innovative South African handshaper Donald Brink, now based in San Clemente. The motivation for the project was Stab's Electric Acid Surfboard Test, where the original Asym shape was given a 5'3" size limit and was intended for use in the diverse waves of the Maldives. The boys knew Mick's power, his skills and his sophisticated board knowledge and created a board that hits its sweet spot in terms of volume while providing maximum motor, that glides through the right arches, fits in tight pockets and can use both flat faces and power sections... them won! For our symmetrical version, they increased the base size to 5'4" and added a 5'6", 5'8", 5'10" and 6' to open the doors for everyday surfers like us who Maybe want a bit more volume and paddling power, but still want the mix of spontaneous freedom and power on the rail that the board was created for. It's designed to be ridden with fins as a thruster and is much shorter than your standard -Shortboard (even your fish). Choose a volume you're comfortable with and push yourself to reach new areas of the wave, like Mick did.

Real world experience cheat code: It absolutely rips “fish sized” in small surf.

As Donald and our team have experimented with surfing larger sizes/volumes of the Micks Tape in small to medium sized waves, it has proven to be a magical fast, loose performance groover that can be used as a thruster or in tri-fin variations in smaller waves to medium energy rips.

For big waves you should stick to the original design and paddle it as short as possible...

The Round Nose Fish Redux hybrid surfboard features a very low overall centerline rocker, with modest single concave under the front foot, to keep the board planing at low speeds.

The concave gradually reduces to flat up in the nose, allowing forgiving entry into waves and in and out of turns. The vee in the tail enables the board to retain its very low stringer-line rocker, while still being easy to turn, and gives the board so much control. The radical change from concave in the center, to vee in the tail creates an aggressive rail rocker that engages when the board is rolled onto an rail. It then feels like a board with much more overall rocker. Thus allowing tight radius turns on the face, and in the lip. Classic TwinFin influenced placement on the front fins. It can be ridden as a Twin/Quad or a 2+1 or however you like it. Enjoy!
