RVCA

RVCA was founded in 2001 by P.M. Tenore in Costa Mesa, California. The pronunciation – "Roo-ka" – is intentionally unintuitive, just like the brand's approach. RVCA does not see itself as a classic surf brand, but rather as a platform for art and culture that operates within the surf and skateboard segment. The "VA" in the name stands for "The Balance of Opposites" – the equilibrium between opposing forces. This concept runs through the entire brand: surf meets art, function meets aesthetics, community meets individuality.

RVCA is known for its collaborations with artists and photographers. The Artist Network Program (ANP) supports artists who collaborate with RVCA and whose works appear on garments and in campaigns. This connection to the art world clearly distinguishes RVCA from other surf brands. The range includes T-shirts, shirts, hoodies, shorts, trousers, and boardshorts – always with a design ambition that goes beyond the classic surf label.
