Neoprene surf shoes: The perfect protection for your feet

Neoprene surf shoes are an essential accessory for every surfer. They provide protection from sharp coral, rocks and other water hazards and help keep feet warm. Neoprene surfing shoes are usually made of neoprene and have a non-slip sole that improves grip on the board.

Which type of neoprene surf shoe is right for me?

There are two main types of neoprene surf shoes:

      • Reef Booties: These shoes only cover the foot and ankles. Reef booties offer you protection from sharp corals and stones, but do not help against cold water. Reef booties are primarily worn with board shorts in warm water.

      • Neoprene boots: These shoes cover the entire foot, ankle and lower leg. The boots help you keep your feet warm and of course also from sharp objects. Regardless of fashion style, you usually wear neoprene boots with a wetsuit.

Caring for your neoprene surf shoes

To extend the life of your neoprene surfing shoes, you should care for them regularly. Wash your shoes with a mild detergent after each surf. Make sure you allow your shoes to dry completely before storing them.
