The bones of the foot can be divided into the following groups: tarsal bones, metatarsal bones and toe bones. 20 muscles and over 114 tendons and ligaments ensure the necessary flexibility and stability between the bones. A fine network of nerves and blood vessels supply the superficial and deeper muscles at the top and bottom of the foot.
