New glassing technology at Semente Surfboards

In the summer of 2025, Nick Uricchio and Miguel Katzenstein, the two founders of Semente Surfboards, visited Zurich again. As they do every year, they watched their poolboard series in action—including at the Urbansurf Zurich Open contest—and spoke directly with the surfers about potential areas for improvement. A clear focus this year was on nose durability. Consequently, several test models with different glassing constructions were developed.

The result is clear: Triple Rail Glassing has proven to be the most robust solution by far—while also reducing the overall weight of the boards. This is made possible, on the one hand, by thinner fiberglass mats and, on the other, by a more targeted arrangement that focuses on more mats along the rails instead of adding extra material across the entire board.

From now on, all Semente poolboards will be produced with Triple Rail Glassing as standard. However, the price remains unchanged—the boards are simply even more durable now 😉 Woohoo!
